When I find myself giving a good presentation, I’m always learning more about the topic and how to tweak it for an audience. My How Not to be a Cranky DBA presentation started as my Top Ten Rules sessions. But ultimately, it became one of my signature presentations. And it just doesn’t get old.

The first few times I presented my Seven SQL Agent Jobs presentation, I realized that I had a gem. And as I gave it, I also realized that I was missing on a really critical part of the methodology, that it can be used for anything that matters in an environment. So instead of having seven jobs you should be running, the next time I give this presentation, it will be more focused on showing how you can build monitors around the things that matter to you. If you can query it, you can alert on it.
